My name is Cory Prior

I am a:

  • Kung Fu practitioner - 1 year so far under My Jhong Law Horn style
  • Buddhist - Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose as all things in life are inpermanent.
  • Bodybuilder - 6 days a week
  • Violin player
  • Cowboy (at heart) - I've actually lived in Florida all my life.
  • Artist - Mostly silly cartoons and doodles, but I find them to be very charming.

With time and training I will be a:

  • Shaolin monk (even if only for a little while, spend a few months in China)
  • Gymnist/Acrobat - learn how to do backflips over your opponent
  • Stuntman - not likely, I'd probably get killed ;)

and most important,

  • Actor - I am definitely going to be an actor - for love of the art, not making money or fame (people incorrectly associate money with happiness). Film is really the best outlet for acting in my opinion with the highest quality and highest production values. Television and stage, however, place you in the same role over and over. So watch for me on the silver screen.

A Cup of Tea - A Zen Koan

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"
